Fall Orientation is an in-person program for students starting their studies at UL Lafayette during the fall semester. During Orientation, you will have the opportunity to meet other incoming students, learn about university resources, discuss important tips for a successful transition to college life, meet with an academic advisor in your area of study and register for classes. Members of our Student Orientation Staff will help you understand what it means to be a student on our campus and will guide you through the experience.

Students are encouraged to schedule classes before this date to avoid this late fee.
Freshman Orientation registration, for Summer and Fall 2024, is now available. We began mailing Orientation registration instructions to admitted students in late February 2024. If you do not recieve your Orientation registration instructions in the mail within two weeks of your admission to the university, please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
The fee for Orientation is $125 and includes parking, program implementation, all program materials, food, a Ragin’ Cajuns® spirit shirt, lanyard, pen and bag. Your Orientation fee must be paid online via ULink before attending orientation. Click here for payment instructions.
Orientation Housing (Optional)* - FOR STUDENTS ONLY
*Overnight housing is not available for family and friends. Please view the list of local hotels on our website for accommodations.
Whether you live locally or are coming from out of town, we encourage students attending New Student Orientation to stay overnight in Baker Hall on the first evening of your Orientation session. When you arrive to overnight housing check-in, you will be paired with another student attending Orientation. If you wish to room with a student who is also registered to attend the same orientation, please check-in to overnight housing at the same time. The Student Orientation Staff will be present with fun activities to help you get to know more about campus and meet your peers.
Pre-registration for Overnight Housing is required and is completed in conjunction with Orientation registration. There is no additional fee to stay overnight on campus during Orientation. Students must bring their own bedding, pillow, towels, toiletries, alarm clock, and other items needed for their overnight stay.
Please contact us at 337-482-1391 or email email@example.com. Our office hours are Monday-Thursday, 7:30 AM-5:00 PM and Friday, 7:30 AM-12:30 PM.
