Family Weekend Service Project

Service is a key Ragin' Cajun value, therefore all Family Weekend attendees are invited to participate in the inaugural Family Weekend Service Project! The 2024 Service Project will benefit the UL Lafayette Career Closet and Campus Cupboard.

Participation is simple. During Family Weekend, we invite you to donate gently-used professional clothing, nonperishable food items, and/or personal hygiene products at the designated drive-through drop-off location. Your donations will directly benefit UL Lafayette students!

Drop-Off Instructions

Visit our convenient Drive-Through Family Weekend Headquarters, located at the UL Lafayette Alumni Center (600 E. St. Mary Blvd.) during one of the designated times below. Enter the semi-circle driveway from St. Mary Blvd. One of our volunteers will meet you at your vehicle to retrieve your donations. If you purchased Family Weekend t-shirts, you will be able to pick up your shirts at the same time!

About the Career Closet

The Career Closet provides students with free, gently-used professional clothing items for interviews, career fairs, and other professional networking events. The goal of this program is to help relieve the stress of affording professional clothing and allows students to focus on creating positive first impressions when networking.

Any current UL Lafayette student can visit the Career Closet, which is located at 210 E. St. Mary Blvd. (in the old bookstore at the corner of Rex Street), to shop for suits, dresses, ties, belts, shoes, and other professional clothing items. Students who visit the Career Closet will be asked to present their Cajun Card. For more information about the Career Closet, contact career@louisiana.edu or 337-482-1444.
