8:20 AM Update: The University of Louisiana at Lafayette is currently under evacuation due to a bomb threat. Orientation activities have been canceled this morning. Please check back here on this website for updates. All students who stayed in Baker Residence Hall last night are being transported to River Oaks Event Center until the evacuation notice has been cleared.

10:00 AM Update: Evacuation orders are still in place and Orientation students have been evacuated to River Oaks Event Center.  Please check back every half hour for additional updates.

10:30 AM Update: No new updates to report.  Evacuation orders are still in place.

11:00 AM Update: Orientation for Wednesday, July 16 is CANCELED. The Office of Orientation and the Academic Success Center will contact Session 5 students directly, to conduct advising over the phone and after phone advising, students will be able to schedule their classes. Phone calls will be made to students over the next few days. Please be patient as we work through the list of students.

Students who stayed in Baker Hall overnight and left their bedding/toiletries in their rooms: We are still unable to access campus, so students will not be able to pick up their personal items until the evacuation order is lifted. Out of town guests are encouraged to try to stay in the Lafayette area until this afternoon. If you are unable to stay, please send an email to orientation@louisiana.edu with the student's name and CLID (username) and we will work directly with each student to get their personal items back to them.

Cajun Card ID photos will be mailed to students.

Parents who wish to pick up their children can do so at River Oaks Event Center located at 520 E Kaliste Saloom Rd, Lafayette, LA 70508.  Please notify a staff member upon your arrival.

**TRANSFER AND ADULT ORIENTATION ON JULY 17 IS STILL SCHEDULED AS PLANNED.  CHECK IN IS FROM 8:00-9:15 AM IN EARL K. LONG GYM.**

2:00 PM Update: EVACUATION ORDERS ARE STILL IN PLACE. As soon as we hear the all clear from the University, we will post that announcement here. Only at that time will students be able to pick up their personal items from Baker Hall. We appreciate your patience as local law enforcement work diligently to ensure the safety of our students on campus.

3:30 PM Update: We have been given the ALL CLEAR by university officials. Students are loading shuttles and will be dropped off at Baker Hall, near the Taft St. Parking Garage. Students will be able to pick up their personal items from Baker Hall at this time.
