The University of Louisiana at Lafayette is closely monitoring the upcoming tropical system and making preparations for its impact on our area.  At this time, Orientation on Monday-Tuesday (July 15-16) of next week is still scheduled to take place as planned. If this changes, we will communicate with all registered students and parents/guests as soon as possible.

If you wish to change your orientation date now to the next session (Wednesday-Thursday, July 17-18), please contact our office via email (orientation@louisiana.edu) or by phone at 337-482-1391. There is no fee to move your orientation date to another session. In any case, if a student is a no-show for Session 6 (July 15-16), they will be able to attend Session 7 (July 17-18) without needing to contact us to reschedule.

In the event that the university is closed on Monday of next week, as I mentioned above, we will communicate with all students and parents/guests, but we wanted to let you know our contingency plan. ONLY IF THE UNIVERSITY IS CLOSED ON MONDAY: our plan is to allow all students and parents/guests registered for Session 6 (July 15-16) to attend Session 7 (July 17-18). To expedite this, we would automatically move everyone’s registration over to Session 7 (July 17-18) and then if a student could not attend the July 17-18 session, they would contact our office to reschedule to our final Fall Orientation session held on August 20, 2019.

We will post another update by 4:00 PM tomorrow, July 11, 2019. Updates will be also be emailed to registered students, parents and guests and posted on our Facebook page: UL Lafayette New Student Orientation.
