In order to facilitate your transition into our university, all new students are required to attend one of our New Student Orientation sessions. Your Orientation is led in part by the Student Orientation Staff (SOS). SOS members are current UL Lafayette students who are prepared to help you with every aspect of getting started at UL Lafayette. SOS will share their own student experience with you to better prepare you to become a member of our Ragin' Cajun family. Early Freshman Orientation

The Early Freshman Orientation program is an invitational program for students starting UL Lafayette in the fall 2010 or summer 2010 term. In addition to regular Freshman Orientation activities, this comprehensive 2-day program includes Advance Credit Exams (ACE). Students may earn UL Lafayette course credit even before their first semester at UL Lafayette through ACE.
  • Date: March 17 - 19, 2010
  • Time: (Check-in) 3:00-4:00 PM Wednesday. 7:15 AM - 12:30 PM Thursday. Check-in time will vary depending on your testing or orientation schedule. Events will conclude at 5:30 pm Thursday, March 18th, and mid-afternoon on Friday, March 19th.
    NOTE: Advance Credit Exams take place Wednesday, March 17, from 4:15 - 6:15 PM and Thursday, March 18, from 7:30 AM - 12:30 PM.

Fall Freshman Orientation

Fall freshman Orientation is a comprehensive 2-day program.
ALL Freshmen are required to attend Orientation.
  • Time: Check-in 8:00-9:00 AM. The program concludes at approximately 9:30 PM on Day 1. Program continues from 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM on Day 2.
  • Location: Student Union Ballroom
  • Fee Amount: $75
  • Date & Fee Payment & Reservation Deadline: See below.

  • Parking: FREE Orientation parking is available in Lot 22G located on Taft St., which intersects both University Ave. and St. Mary Blvd. Please see the map in your Orientation Brouchure for the exact location of this lot. This is the main parking area for Orientation participants.
    Overflow parking is available in the Taft St. Parking Facility (Building 91 on the map in your Orientation Brochure). Participants should park here as a last resort ONLY and should inform the Orientation staff at check-in to receive a voucher.

Late Freshman Orientation

Late Freshman Orientation Sessions are offered for students who are unable to attend a regular Orientation Session. Students are strongly encouraged to attend a regular Orientation Session to receive the best selection of classes.
